NEW GLOUCESTER FAIR - GROUNDS

New Gloucester Fairgrounds, like most fairgrounds facilities in Maine, was a half-mile dirt track. Beech Ridge Speedway owner Jim McConnell and the Main State Stock Car Racing Association promoted the racing events at the fairgrounds from 1949 to 1951.

Rumors surfaced years later of auto racing returning to New Gloucester Fairgrounds but the rumors and the races never materialized.

Now re-named Trotters Park, the old fairgrounds is presently owned by the Town of New Gloucester.
