ARUNDEL SPEEDWAY

The Arundel Speedway opened in 1964 but by the end of the decade, the one-third mile asphalt oval had ceased operations. The speedway featured the drivers and cars of the Main State Stock Car Racing Association and the so-called "rails" from the Hudson Speedway in New Hampshire. Below are a couple of remembrances courtesy of Chester Porter.

The above photo of Willie Anderson came from a souvenir program sold at the Arundel Speedway. The exact year is unknown.

The above photo is of Dick Joyce who had the wrecker service at the Arundel Speedway.

Harold Wilcox was the subject in the newspaper article below. Again, the exact year of the article and the newspaper it appeared in are unknown. The article is on the "Memories from Arundel Speedway" page because 1.) Harold Wilcox lived in Arundel and 2.) in the article in states he had hoped to race at the speedway.
